Abstract A new artificial intelligence tool can distinguish prefibrotic myelofibrosis from essential thrombocythemia, which are often confused by pathologists, by analyzing digitized slides of bone marrow biopsies. The tool made the right call 92% of the time. Researchers are still trying to determine how the AI tool makes its decisions.
