Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify strategic factors of marine leisure tourism. For the study proposed a hierarchical structure for evaluating factors of marine leisure tourism by applying Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). Data were collected from 18 experts in the filed of marine leisure tourism of Jeju Island. AHP hierarchical structure consisted of 4 main determinants with 12 attributes, which included infrastructure, popularity, Industrialization, and content. The results of AHP analysis show that the most important determinant was Infrastructure, followed by industrialization, popularity, and content. Establishing a win-win plan with local fishermen and expanding small scale marina facilities were the most critical attribute of Jeju marine leisure tourism among 12 components. The findings will provide policy makers and marine leisure tourism managers with practical implications in developing marine leisure tourism in Jeju Island.
