Abstract

The resistance is calculated for square antidot lattices in magnetic fields. Aharonov–Bohm type oscillation closely related to quantized energy levels associated with a periodic orbit encircling an antidot has a maximum amplitude around d/ a=0.5–0.6 and almost disappears for d/ a∼0.7. For d/ a∼0.8 another type of oscillation appears, whose period corresponds exactly to the flux quantum per unit cell. A possible scenario explaining this peculiar behavior is discussed.
