Abstract

Nine AGU Scholars were named from among the recipients of scholarships under the American Geological Institute's (AGI) Minority Participation Program for the 1986– 1987 academic year in recognition of AGU's continued strong support and substantial contribution to this program. Two of these are AGU Sea Grant Scholars because part of the support for this program comes from a matching grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Sea Grant Program, which is aimed at increasing the number of minority students studying in fields related to the development of marine and coastal resources.
