Abstract

AGU President Tim Killeen and two authors of AGU's recent report “Hurricanes and the U.S. Gulf Coast: Science and Sustainable Rebuilding” held two briefings on the report's findings for congressional staff members on 29 June in Washington, D.C.“This is an effort on the part of a large scientific society to say that we have a body of knowledge that is relevant, and it ought to be connected into the decision‐making that is very important to the nation,” Killeen noted.
