Abstract

Every two years, AGU prepares a three‐year plan—a blueprint of Union activities for the next three years. The process of developing it promotes communication, the development of new ideas, and the search for consensus. It sets in motion necessary changes. In creating the Plan, we assess our internal capabilities and external environment. We identify actions necessary to achieve AGU's purposes and to avoid potential disaster. A good plan ensures a stable platform from which meaningful change can be launched at a rate and to the extent that AGU's membership, staff, and financial resources can support.
