AbstractWhen George B. Verghese of the Hindustan Times mooted Project Chhatera (Media Asia Vol. 3 No. 1) and gave a distant village of dusty roads and simple people the limelight of urban publicity, he brought forth an astounding experiment in development journalism. One of the men who worked closely on Project Chhatera was Narendra Aggarwal. He examines the agricultural reporting scene in India and comments on what has really gone wrong.
