Abstract

We consider it very important to assess children’s behaviour and implicitly to understand their way of acting in order to find the most efficient methods and be a continuous support for them. This study aims to observe the behaviour of primary school students with the purpose of assessing their levels of aggressiveness. Being part of the educational system, as physical education teachers, we have always been interested in how children manifest in different situations during school hours. The main method used consisted in determining the 2D:4D ratio, which may have implications for children’s behaviour, and gather information about the students’ ways of acting, which was obtained by summarising the data from a questionnaire applied to teachers who had daily contact with them. The use of this method made it possible to monitor and measure their aggressiveness levels, the purpose being to intervene in the long term in favour of children with behavioural predispositions by implementing different ways of self-control. We will present some results of the study regarding the average value of aggressiveness, the mean deviation and the 2D:4D ratio for both hands: 0.983 ± 0.0410 for the left hand and 0.996 ± 0.047 for the right hand in boys, and 0.989 ± 0.003 for the left hand and 994 ± 0.039 for the right hand in girls. In terms of aggressiveness ratio, boys recorded 2.28 ± 1.33, and girls, 1.847 ± 1.103.
