Abstract
We generalize the results of studying the effect of thermal aging on the mechanical properties of the base and weld metal of equipment and piping of the first loop of nuclear power plants with VVER and RBMK reactors in the course of long-term operation. Comparison of the initial properties of these materials with those after 105 and 2 · 105 h of operation shows that the changes are mostly insignificant. Furthermore, the mechanical properties after 30 years are not lower than those required by the Standards PNAE G-7-002-86 for the commonly used steel grades and PNAE-7-010-89 for the weld metal.
