Abstract
The paper examines the potential of agile methodologies in improving quality assurance in the process industry. The paper presents and explains quality management and assurance processes, key standards for software and process industries in the context of agile methodology implementation. Traditional project management with a focus on the waterfall method is briefly presented, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of traditional approaches. Agile methodologies are presented and a detailed description of selected agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, XP, and Crystal Clear is provided. Furthermore the paper discusses the role and importance of quality assurance in agile methodologies and their application in the process industry. The conclusion of the paper highlights that agile methodologies can be an effective tool for improving quality assurance in the process industry. By adopting agile methodologies, the process industry can become more responsive to growing market demands, increase quality and productivity, and ensure that its products meet standards. The authors propose and advocate for the adoption of agile methodologies in process industries to enhance quality assurance.
