Abstract

Our community holds diverse views about aggression - its desirability; where it is legitimate and where it is not; how it should be dealt with and at what point it is excessive. Few parents and professionals would disagree that a very aggressive young child causes serious problems for themselves and for those around them. This article asks three important questions about aggression in young children and offers effective strategies for parents trying to manage a child's aggressive behaviour. The second article questions whether premature infants are necessarily more temperamentally difficult than full-term infants.
