Abstract

Normal human urine was concentrated by ultrafiltration and chromatographed on a Sephadex G-100 gel column. Fractions containing immunoglobulin subunits, either intact L and H polypeptide chains or fragments thereof were isolated, labelled with 131I, diluted in the ultrafiltrate and subsequently reconcentrated by ultrafiltration. A portion of the concentrated labelled proteins was found to consist of aggregates with Chromatographie, density gradient ultracentrifugation, immunoelectrophoretic and autoradiographic properties resembling those of intact 7 S γ-globulin molecules.
