Abstract

We demonstrated the first aggregation-induced enhanced emission (AIEE) materials for white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs). AIEE properties of materials provide a possibility to turnaround the bad thermal effects to positive effects for device performance as WOLEDs working under the condition of the high brightness and high current density. The blue AIEE molecule TDPVBi shows high glass transition temperature ( T g ) and special applicability for OLEDs, ca. enhanced smoothness as annealing its film. Constructing WOLED by combining both AIEE materials ( TDPVBi and CN-DPASDB) results in devices with a maximum current efficiency of 7.9 cd A −1, a maximum power efficiency of 6.2 lm W −1 and a maximum luminance of 25350 cd m −2, respectively. The AIEE WOLED displays simplification in device fabrication and excellent color stability, which belongs to the best fluorescent WOLED reported.
