Abstract

Today too, one can say, incompatible authors appear in the columns of Literaturnaia gazeta: Leonid Batkin, a clear representative of democratic social thought, and his antipode, a person who uses the word democrats in quotation marks, Eduard Limonov, the emigre writer. The name of the latter will without a doubt raise many questions among the ranks of the old and faithful readers of Literaturnaia gazeta. Of course, Limonov is usually found among the authors of Sovetskaia Rossiia, Molodaia gvardiia, and Nash sovremennik.
