Abstract

bSix species of parasitic Hymenoptera and 1 predatory Lepidoptera from South Africa, and 1 Hymenoptera from New Zealand were liberated for biological control of white wax scale Gascardia destructor (Newstead) in Australia. Four of the South African Hymenoptera have become established and at least 2, Anicetus communis (Annecke) and Paraceraptrocerus nyasicus (Compere), are contributing to control of G. destructor in eastern Australia.
