Abstract

In multi-agent system, multiple agents interact with each other based on protocol definitions. The interactions among agents are used to achieve individual goals of agents as well as combined goals of organization. This study proposes pattern of agent interactions using protocols during design phase of software, called communicative act. They are defined by generating role schema for each role and by using agent interaction protocol. The role schema for each role represents protocols and properties of roles. Agent interaction protocol uses template and package diagram, sequence diagram, activity and state chart diagram for various intra-agent and inter-agent communications. Using AUML specifications of agent interactions, developer can easily develop code for agents’ interactions. In this paper, agent interaction protocols are generated for fetus monitoring system. Different agents like monitor, diagnosis agent, or gynecologist communicate with each other through these protocols for the common goal of safety of fetus and expecting mother.
