Abstract

AbstractDuring a routine ovariohysterectomy in a 10‐month‐old female rabbit, the absence of both uterine horns and cervix was noted. Right and left ovaries were present in abdomen, and they were in communication with the vestigial uterine tubes. The histopathological examination confirmed the suspicion of uterine abnormality and agenesis of both uterine horns. Considering that the urinary and genital systems develop from the same embryonic layer, alterations often involve both systems. It would be advisable to report any anatomical abnormality affecting those systems, in order to understand real incidence of those problems and evaluate the impact on patients’ quality of life.
