Abstract

Marine sponges belonging to the genus Agelas are recognized as a rich source of bromopyrrole alkaloids, which have attracted widespread interest due to their intriguing chemical structures and biological activities. In the course of our continuing study for interesting secondary metabolites from marine organisms, two marine sponges Agelas spp. collected at Okinawa were investigated to give six bromopyrrole alkaloids, agelamadins A-F (1-6). The structures of 1-6 were assigned on the basis of spectroscopic analyses.
