Abstract
Abstract This paper gives a general view of the present state of ageing management in the Federal Republic of Germany, including the requirements set out in the set of rules and its handling within the plants. Moreover, it describes the requirements on ageing management and/or ageing monitoring in the area of materials ageing from the point of view of the expert and sets out in what way ageing processes have already manifested themselves in the area of mechanical and electrical engineering systems. And finally, it gives an outlook on current projects that, among other things, aim at making transparent the application of the methods of ageing management according to uniform requirements and rules and thus with a considerable depth.
