Abstract
The correlation between root transparency and chronological age was examined in a sample of 366 intact teeth from 295 individuals of known sex and age. Correlations, especially for anterior teeth (incisors and canines), were slightly higher in females than males, but neither the slopes nor the Y intercepts of the regression lines were significantly different. Linear regression analysis to predict age separately for males, females, and the total sample resulted in standard errors of estimate ranging from 8.88 to 11.46 years.
