Abstract

By the end of this chapter you should: be aware that there are important causes of inequality other than class, gender and ethnicity; be familiar with the various aspects of age inequality in contemporary British society and understand the way in which theories of age inequality have developed; be familiar with the various aspects of inequality caused by disability in contemporary British society and understand the way in which concern about inequality caused by disability has developed; be familiar with the various aspects of regional or locational inequality in contemporary British society and understand the way in which theories of locational inequality have developed.
