Abstract

Background: Colorectal cancer survival in the UK is lower than in similar countries. The NHS Cancer Plan established targets of 14 days between GP referral and first hospital appointment for suspected cancer and 31 days between cancer diagnosis and first treatment. We investigated if there are socio-demographic inequalities in timely referral and treatment for colorectal cancer.
