Abstract
AbstractA silver‐promoted decarboxylative annulation of alkynoic acids with 2‐aminopyridines has been developed to assemble 2‐arylimidazo[1,2‐a]pyridines. Various functionalities in the aromatic rings in the two substrates are well tolerated in this reaction and gave the desired products in good yields for a broad scope of substrates. Additional advantages of this protocol include mild reaction conditions and high regioselectivity. This report represents the first example of synthesis of 2‐arylimidazo[1,2‐a]pyridines from alkynoic acids.
