Abstract

Titanium dioxide nanotubes (TiO2 NTs) have been widely used in photocatalytic systems due to their stable properties and low cost. In this study, TiO2 NTs were modified with Ag and Cu2O by electrochemical co-deposition. The results revealed that the co-deposition of Ag and Cu2O highly improved the photocatalytic performance of TiO2 NTs. The maximum photoelectric conversion efficiency was 22.65%, which was nearly three times higher than that of pristine TiO2 NTs. The S-scheme heterojunction mechanism was proposed to explain the electron-transfer mechanism of Ag-Cu2O-TiO2 NT.
