Abstract
In this study, potential impregnants of some geothermal waters and several properties of these waters-treated wooden were studied: solution absorption, net dry matter, tangential swelling and shrinkage. For experiments, Afyonkarahisar-Omer (AF-23), Gecek (R-260) Gazligol (GZL-1) geothermal waters, sapwoods of Crimean pine (Pinus nigra Arnold.) and Turkish red pine (Pinus brutia Ten.), dipping method and destilled water were used. Impregnating and testing procedures were carried out in laboratory conditions. Consequently, for Omer, Gecek and Gazligol geothermals, the concentrations of potential impregnants were determined as 0,45%, 0,47% and 0,13%, respectively. Statistically, geothermal waters affected significantly absorption and dry matter, but did not affect swelling and shrinkage. The highest absorption and dry matter were found in samples treated with Gecek geothermal. Amounts of swelling and shrinkage of geothermal waters-treated wood were found almost the same ratio with that of pure water-treated wood. Deneylerde, üç farklı jeotermal su, kızılçam (Pinus brutia Ten.) ve karaçam (Pinus nigra Arnold.) odunları ve saf su kullanılmıştır. Bu latalardan, test ve kontrol grubu örnekler hazırlanmıştır. Her test için 15’er adet olmak üzere, çözelti absorpsiyonu ve net kuru madde testleri için 3x3x1,5 cm, teğet yönde daralma ve genişleme testleri için 2x2x3 cm ölçülerinde örnekler hazırlanmıştır. Tekrar, aynı koşullarda, hava kurusu rutubete kadar kondisyonlanıp, 0,01 g hassasiyetle ölçülmüştür. Örnekler, TS 2471 (1976)’e göre, 103±2°C’de kurutma dolabında tam kuru ağırlığa (%0 rutubet) kadar kurutulmuş, desikatörde normal oda sıcaklığına kadar soğutulmuş ve tekrar, aynı hassasiyetle ölçülmüştür. Ayrı ayrı olmak üzere, naylon torbalara konularak, emprenye edilinceye kadar kuru halde muhafaza edilmiştir. Kuyulardan alınan sıcak sular, soğumaları için normal oda sıcaklığına (20±2 C) kadar bekletildikten sonra, özellikleri değişmeyecek şekilde, özel plastik kaplara konularak, emprenye işlerinde kullanıncaya kadar muhafaza edilmiştir
