Abstract
[Purpose] Regular exercise or physical activity is an important for improving health and body composition. However, increasing disability is linked to decreasing levels of physical activity and lack of exercise or physical activity may contribute to an increased risk of obesity which known to negatively affect disease. Thus, most important maintain exercise or physical activity for health. The purpose of this study was to determine changes serum lipids, inflammatory and physical activity quantity of night shift workers. [Methods] 30 male participants who night shift workers; 15 male are experimental group and 15 male are control group. The experimental group underwent three time 10-min bouts (30 minutes of day), 3day of week, 10 weeks of intermittent exercise. Measurements comprised serum lipids, inflammatory and physical activity quantity. [Results] After intermittent exercise, the TC, LDL-C, HLD-C, IL-6, TNF-α and CRP are statistically significant. Physical activity quantity did not change intervention 10 weeks and follow up 4 weeks. Also did not change physical activity quantity ≥ 3 METs in both groups. [Conclusion] Therefore, these findings suggest that after intermittent exercise may represent an effective intervention strategy for improving serum lipids, inflammatory and keep the physical activity ≥ 3 METs, leading to improved quality of life in night shift workers.
