Abstract

Micaela Antonucci and Gabriele Neri's book offers for the first time an overview of the projects that Pier Luigi Nervi's Italian engineering office designed and built in post-colonial African countries between 1964 and 1980. Through the detailed description of some major works, the text shows how the "Nervi System" gradually became a stylistic language, leaving behind the relationship between architectural and structural forms that had characterized Nervi's well-known projects.
