Abstract
Affirmative and plurality: These are the features of the bimestrial issue from Afrobras and Unipalmares publishers. It was designed aiming at stimulating black people personal and professional growth, as well as at spreading public policies, art and culture. Its language is accessible and the topics are approached in a way to strength solid arguments against racism and discrimination. Staff of journalists from the communication department of AFROBRAS realizes this publication. This magazine is part of a huge project that includes Internet, TV, online TV and news agency, underlying the work quality dimension as well as the theme importance. Another purpose of this magazine is to give room for intellectual black or non-black writers to publish their articles that discuss issues related to discrimination and education. Besides, it aims at introducing people that could serve as a reference for readers. The objective of this project is to show the history and development of Afirmativa Plural magazine as fruit from the Communication department of social actions and AFROBRAS, underlying its importance as grass roots print media dedicated to black culture and its dissemination.
