Abstract
Começando na década passada, a idéia de biblioteca digital, tal qual genericamente imaginamos, tem se transformado no paradigma reiterado dos sistemas e serviços bibliotecários. Desde então, um número impressionante de iniciativas, que incluem produtos e serviços de informação digital, infra-estrutura técnica, normativa e comercial, consórcios em escala global, tem sido continuamente desenvolvido em torno dessa idéia.
