Abstract

Cervical dystonia (CD) is the most common type of dystonia. Anxiety and depression affects up to 70% of patients with CD and markedly reduce health-related quality of life. The most effective method of treatment of CD is local injections of botulinum toxin. Reduction of motor symptoms should improve not only motor symptoms, but also decrease the severity of depression, anxiety and increase quality of life. Aim: To evaluate quality of life, anxiety and depression in patients with CD regularly treated with botulinum toxin.
