Abstract

Aesthetic principles add beauty to literature. Such principles are classified into many categories by various scholars. Poetry has many unique characteristics. Simile, initial rhyme, head rhyme and stratification are the few characteristics which adds beauty to poems. Aesthetic factors, i.e. the beauty of poetry is the term of art that refers to the overall language elements used to beautify a literature or a piece of poem, in which individual aesthetic elements and collective aesthetic elements are divided into two categories. Simile, metaphor, alliteration, paradox and allusion are the individual aesthetic elements. The collective aesthetic elements are characterized by the conceptual features found in poetry.
