Through personalized expressions, Wong introduces Eastern aesthetics and philosophical thinking to international audiences, resulting in enthusiastic reception. Taking Chungking Express as an example, this film is one of Wongs masterpieces, vividly portraying the urban landscape of 1980s Hong Kong. Despite its short production cycle, the movie has garnered numerous awards on the international stage. This paper delves into the reasons behind the international popularity of Wongs films, using Chungking Express as a case study.
