Abstract
1. 1. A case of chronic lung abscess of the left upper lobe is presented. Complete recovery occurred with penicillin inhalation therapy. Previous intensive chemotherapy and intramuscular penicillin had failed to effect the course of the disease. 2. 2. The application of topical therapy through deposition of penicillin aerosol upon a diseased segment of the bronchopulmonary tree proved singularly effective in this instance and may constitute an important addition to the medical management of lung abscess.
