Abstract

The Coyanosa field is situated seventeen miles northwest of Fort Stockton within the eastern part of the Delaware basin adjacent to the southwestern corner of the Central Basin Platform. Deep production, discovered by Mobil Oil Corporation in May, 1963, now covers an area of 30 sq mi of Devonian and Ellenburger formations. Devonian products have a market value currently estimated at almost $500 million and Ellenburger at $400 million.
