Abstract

Due to the continuous increase of air traffic flow, the original airport wireless communication system is unable to meet airport demand, which brings risks to the efficient and safe operation of the airport. Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) has been proposed as an important technology to provide broadband wireless communication applications to different scales of airport. In this paper, we will firstly introduce the international development process of AeroMACS, the system structure, and summarization of standardization process. In addition, we will present the construction of AeroMACS platform and related experiments at Guilin Airport, which can be a reference for the future related tests and practical application of AeroMACS system in China.
