Abstract
The object of this chapter is to provide the reader with an introduction to aerodynamics. aircraft stability and control and the dynamic response and behaviour of an aircraft so as to be able to understand the role and tasks of automatic flight control systems. The aim is to establish the essential background to Fly -by-wire (FBW) flight control (Chapter 4) and autopilots (Chapter 8).
