Abstract

The results of an experimental investigation of the aerodynamic characteristics of elliptic cones for M???=12.5 and Re0=(0.78–1.52)·104 are given. The effect of the apex angle of the cone and the ellipticity coefficient on the value of the maximum lift-drag ratio is considered. It is shown that in a viscous gas flow the function K(α) can be determined by assigning the quantity Kmax and the corresponding angle of incidence. The experimental data are compared with the results of calculations.
