Abstract

On the final day of National Recovery Month, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) formally announced the establishment of an Office of Recovery within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use. Although this development has constituted an item on recovery advocates' agenda for some time, it remains unclear as to who will be tapped to run the office and what its main deliverables to the recovery community will be.
