Abstract

(Acta Obstet Gynecol Scand. 2021;100:941–948) The average age of women in the Netherlands delivering their first child has significantly increased over the last 50 years (31.2 in 2017, 24.3 in 1970). Advanced maternal age (AMA) carries increased likelihood of adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes. This study aimed to understand the association between adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes and AMA by comparing parturients ages 25 to 29 with pregnant women aged 40 and up.
