Abstract

Epilepsy has an annual incidence of 27.27 and prevalence of 572.8 per 1 lakh population in India. Half the persons with epilepsy (PWEs) on antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) experience troublesome adverse effects (AEs) with the potential to affect compliance. AEs may vary among population and with the type of AED used. The study was planned to map the adverse effect profile of antiepileptic drugs in north Indian population.
