Abstract

The discipline of architecture is fast transforming with technology, making it susceptive towards adventure and innovation. A long list of innovative and or adventurous design domains for sustainable built environment include urban regeneration, Green infrastructure, vertical gardens, healthy-polis, livable cities, humane design, parametric design, productive architecture, biomimicry, biophilic architecture, intelligent buildings, smart cities and many more. The major focus being inclined towards healthy life and environmental sustainability supported by technological advancement. This paper reviews few context specific case studies and analyses the pros and cons of combining the green technologies and strategies with adventurous designs for a better livable built environment through few qualitative and quantitative methods. The inferences illustrate the need for healthy and adventurous built environment from micro to macro levels in all urban settings with the possibilities to enhance the quality of built spaces and living experience.
