Abstract

Objective: Pregnancy and live birth rates following IVF-ET decline rapidly with advancing maternal age partly due to an increase of errors in meiosis during female gametegenesis. In order to study genetic control of early embryo development, chromosomal abnormalities in human embryos at cleavage stage and their relevance to embryo development in extended culture were investigated. Relationship between maternal age and frequency of aneuploidies was also studied.
