Abstract

With the extensive use of electronic health records and the increased application of medical informatics, big data have been developed rapidly in medicine. Deep learning, artificial intelligence, as well as machine learning has become the focus of big data-related researches in cardiovascular diseases, in particular imaging studies and genetic researches. Basic and translational researches on the pathogenesis of vascular diseases and prevention and treatment of intimal hyperplasia have made rapid progress owing to the emerging new technologies and materials. In recent years, clinical, basic and translational researches in vascular surgery are mainly focused on the etiology and prevention strategies of aortic diseases and other diseases with high incidence, vascular imaging, prevention and treatment of intimal hyperplasia and minimally invasive treatment. The ultimate goal is to identify the optimal individualized therapy for patients and reduce the cost. Herein, we review the advances with respect to digital medicine, robotic endovascular intervention, disease prevention with medication, and basic and translational researches in vascular surgery. Key words: Vascular surgery; Intimal hyperplasia; Endovascular intervention
