Abstract

<p indent=0mm>The development of elastic metasurfaces, which are ultra-thin metamaterials, has opened new possibilities for realizing extraordinary wave manipulation, particularly for elastic waves at low frequencies. First, according to different types of elastic wave modes, we introduce the basic concept, working principle, and latest research indications of elastic metasurfaces. In addition, we discuss the existing problems in the current research of elastic metasurfaces. Then, we focus on engineering applications of these metasurfaces, including mode separation, energy transmission, and vibration isolation at low frequencies. Finally, suggestions are put forward for future research work.
