Advances in the study of dental caries and systemic diseases

Abstract

Dental caries is a common chronic oral disease that seriously affects people's health and quality of life, while patients with systemic diseases often neglect oral health due to systemic disease conditions, leading to the occurrence of oral problems, and some systemic diseases may promote or aggravate the development of oral problems, therefore, the awareness of oral health care of patients with systemic diseases should be raised, oral hygiene should be improved and quality of life should be enhanced. In this paper, the mechanism of the link between dental caries and systemic diseases and the preventive measures of oral diseases are discussed.
