Abstract

Depression is a clinical common high suicide rates of mental illness, electro-convulsive therapy with the introduction of anesthetics and muscle relaxants is called modified electroconvulsive therapy(MECT). MECT can be quickly alleviate symptoms of depression, reduce the risk of suicide in patients with, at the same time for treatment-resistant depression has obvious curative effect. By summarizing the application of anesthetic drugs in the treatment of MECT in patients with depression, advances in the application of narcotic drugs in electroshock therapy for patients with depression were reviewed, to achieve a more reasonable anesthesia management, improve the treatment of depression patients.
