This multiauthored textbook on facial dyskinesias covers topics relating to involuntary movement disorders of the head and neck, with particular emphasis on involuntary blepharospasm. It is divided into two sections; the first covers the clinical aspects of facial movement disorders and the second discusses the treatment of these conditions. ... provides a useful reference source for the neuro-ophthalmologist or the oculoplastic surgeon... The first section contains a comprehensive review of descriptive aspects of blepharospasm and related neurologic diseases (eg, Meige syndrome, hemifacial spasm, lid apraxia). Beyond these typical neurologic syndromes, we find a more detailed review of facial stereotypes associated with schizophrenia, involuntary vocalizations, bruxism, and facial chorea. Most of these descriptive chapters are from a neurologist's perspective, with only limited contributions from ophthalmologists.
