Abstract

Green chemistry has taken prime importance in today’s world and sustainable development is the goal of the researchers these days. Eco-friendly practices have now started to make its way in green analytical chemistry (GAC). In this regard numerous green liquid chromatographic (LC) analysis of pharmaceuticals in different dosage form has been performed. The assessment of greenness or eco-friendly tools like green analytical procedure index (GAPI), National Environmental Methods Index (NEMI), analytical eco-scale, analytical method greenness score (AMGS) and analytical greenness matric approach (AGREE) have been discussed while using the LC analysis of pharmaceuticals. This review covers all those articles published in this domain of green LC analysis of pharmaceuticals. Moreover, this review also includes useful insights about tools or software used for green profile assessment especially about RGB (red-green-blue) model and how it was evolved to white analytical chemistry (WAC) model, also difference is demonstrated between WAC and GAC. We also demonstrated the concept of circular analytical chemistry (CAC) and its 12 principles for promoting sustainable analytical practices.
