Abstract

In addition to urinary system diseases, systemic multiple organ factors can induce lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). At present, transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is still the gold standard for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). In the past, to evaluate the efficacy of TURP, people used to focus on subjective urination symptoms improvement and objective examination results, and rarely analyzed the function of detrusor itself and status of organs. This paper reviews the relationship between detrusor function and diseases. Key words: Lower urinary tract symptoms; Metabolic syndrome; Detrusor underactivity; Aging
