Abstract
This volume is a collection of reprints compiled, and for the most part written, by A. S. Wiener. It is a testimonial to the tremendous productivity of this unique worker. The reprints are offered exactly as they appeared in their original publication; therefore, they are typeset in different styles. The contributions range from articles in prestigious journals as<i>Blood, The American Journal of Clinical Pathology</i>, and<i>Nature</i>to brief communiques to "house organs," eg, Bulletin Adelphi Hospital; and "medical throwaways," eg,<i>Medical Opinion and Review</i>. The book has a particularly extensive and valuable section on the blood groups in nonhuman primates, but the lack of editorial review, synthesis, and emendation permits unnecessary repetitiveness (one diagram appears four times); this defect reduces it to a mere source book.
